I'll take that as a "No", so, where to eat & drink? Somewhere with a bit of life would be good. Anyone got the inside-track?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

hyweljenkins, I don't know about life this late in the season but there are some good places to eat in Banff. I spent a lot of time in the Irish bar St James Gate I think live music most night lots of English beers and good food. There is also a good Thai restaurant and an eclectic oriental restaurant that serves Indian, Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese food plus lots of places doing the usual slabs of steak.

Saltlik I think is the top steakhouse these days but I could be wrong. Plenty of good sushi. One of my faves is Melissa's - got a bar upstairs as well.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Have a great time hyweljenkins, we really enjoyed it at Banff (although I think Big White has replaced it in our affections ) There have been loads of other threads on Banff, a quick search will bring them up. For what its worth we really liked Saltliks, well worth a visit. As Russell says, the Irish Bar at St James Gate is good and pretty lively. Have fun!

hyweljenkins,
If you Itinerary allows a night or two spent in the Sunshine Inn would be well worth it. Sheer isolation and direct access to the slopes in the morning.
