Hi Snowheads,
Has anyone else seen the new Matchstick Productions ski film 'Drop Everything'?
I went to one of the UK premier's a couple of weeks ago at the Ham Yard Hotel in London and was keen to get peoples opinions on it. I am no ski film expert/critic but have seen a fair share in my time. I am a fan of MSP films and was not disappointed with this movie. It might not have the world's best skiers, or ground breaking new tricks, but they go really, really big and the commentary is genuinely funny. It's mostly a big mountain/back country/off piste terrain focused, so one for guys who get up at the crack of dawn to catch first lifts. If you are a fan of watching guys hit huge rails in the street or hand planting off warehouses, it is probably not for you!
The event was run by Holmlands, who are a media and events company and have the exclusive screening rights for all Matchstick Productions (MSP Films) in the UK. It was in a really nice venue and well organised, so I would recommend checking out any future events they put on.
I have written a blog on the event for a more in depth review here - http://batterseaski.co.uk/drop-everything-uk-ski-film-premier-review/

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Doesn't have the world's best skiers!? Um...
'Tis definitely a great film and a welcome return to proper MSP style ski porn though. Loved the Cody Townsend and Elyse Saugstad (probably spelt that wrong!) segment.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@clarky999 agree, that was my favourite segment too! Followed by the Squaw Valley 70/80s throwback.

Cody and Elyse's segement was great, both of them come across as just really great people to go skiing with. I didn't like it as much as Days Of My Youth though, but I've only seen DE once and I was probably expecting too much. Will probably give it another try later in the week.
Am looking forward to Same Difference as well, which I think is on redbull.tv and is supposed to be available for a week. Slightly different, made by Legs Of Steel and following a racer (Felix Neureuther at Schladming night race), some freestyle and some freeride (forget the names of the skiers).

@SnoodlesMcFlude, I'm looking forward to seeing Same Difference at the (second ) Innsbruck premiere this evening too (my gf's cousin is the principal filmer/editor). The main freestyler is Paddy Graham on the most humongous kicker ever built (Michi said he was scared just by the downslope, and he's a very good skier himself!) then Fabi Lentsch, Tobi Tritscher, Bene Mayr etc freeriding in AK and Georgia.

Thanks @SnoodlesMcFlude, I assumed that was as a US only option ? and $30 ? Is that how much these films are ? I'd assumed the usual Tenner ish for a DVD

@Timberwolf, dunno, if I buy them then I’ll get the electronic copy, which is usually under a tenner. I don’t buy many though, mostly you can watch stuff for free online if Red Bull are involved and you’re willing to wait a few years.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I saw it at the Manchester screening the other week.
I would have to say MSP have dropped the ball a bit with the last couple of films. Not sure what was missing but compared to films like Attack of La Niña and The Way I See It there seemed to be something missing.
Overall it was a solid 7/10 and I did enjoy just not as much as I hoped.
