Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just booked flights to Innsbruck for a midweek trip next week, skiing in the day on Tue, Wed, Thu and working remotely the rest of the time.
Where's gonna be good? My ideal for this trip would be having enough steep pistes to really push my technique, but I'm not really that fussy (or that good
)*
I'm looking at Sölden hoping more will open there, also tempted because the 3-day lift pass will cover me for Obergurgl which opens this thursday and between the two that's loads of terrain.
I'm guessing Hintertux would be a good option as it's a steep glacier?

@skeksis
, solden plus obergurgl is a bigger area together than Hintertux. Solden has more open than Hintertux as of today. Not much steep in Obergurgl and the glaciers at Solden are decent but not in my opinion as good as Hintertux. However the black on the Rettenbach is pretty steep and you will get a better feeling of travel over the area (plus Obergurgl).
Hintertux has some better and more varied terrain (more steep based on what is currently open) but if you want km then given the greater km on offer head for the Otztal.
Solden Town is a bit weird this time of year (just a main road - no life). But if you don’t care then that won’t matter.
BTW both are fantastic for 3 days!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Surely Stubai Glacier - being so close to Innsbruck - could be worth a look
None of the Austrian glaciers are very steep - but I've always found Stubai as good as anywhere for extent of terrain, decent lift system and general user- friendliness.

I just noticed that Sölden will likely have a lot more open than it does right now, as they open the main body of the resort (the "winter ski area") this thursday according to
