Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

The talk looks like good value if you are local. Found that they were doing Transceiver Training in my village (Hamble). But for £48 quid I will save it for the first week of my season on patch of snow next to the hotel with my mates.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Think I'll go to that. They're doing the "In Depth" talk the next evening as well. Thursday evening won't be as convienient for me but I could shuffle stuff around. Is it worth doing both?

Fancy the in depth one, have watched the Essentials one a few times online. Afternoon in the fridge, then go to this.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@adithorp, I can’t do Thursday, so I’m just doing the Essentials for now.

@adithorp, I went to this last year or the year before. There was a thread on here which might be worth reading before you commit to too much...

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Thanks for that. .@Scarlet, I assume you agree with those comments? Kind of had a sneaking feeling that it might be like that. I might do the Wed "essentials" anyway as it's not going to break the bank.. I'll probably spend more on beer on the way back to the train... and possibly again on the walk fromthe train home.

@adithorp, Yeah, I didn't really have anything to add to what's been said there, but I don't disagree with it. You're fairly local and it's not too expensive, so you don't have much to lose anyway, but I wouldn't bother travelling any distance or paying more than that. You'll probably get more useful info from quizzing the guides in Gressoney.

Have to say if anyone is on the fence about going it is worth it. Attended the one on Monday night in London. The material has evolved over the last few yeas and content wise is much better. It also lasted a lot longer than i expected. I recalled in the past it was around the hour mark. We easily spent a good two hours on Monday.
In terms of content - there is nothing ground breaking if you've been to talk before, use a good guide who talks to you or read up on things yourself. However, as a reminder of the basics and a refresher especially if you go with your ski partner it is worth it.
Also really liked this graphic he had:

That comparison image is great. The difference is significant with there being almost half as many fatalities. Thank you for putting that up.
