There are too many resorts for us to ski them all. Which resorts do you want to ski that you haven't yet and why. Any feedback welcome as to why I shouldnt go somewhere as well, I don't want to waste my skiing time.
For me:
Dolomites: Everyone raves about the scenery though its allegedly poor snow record has always put me off booking in advence and it is difficult to get to a nearby airport from Scotland.
Pyrenees: I have been in summer and it is lovely quite fancy Baqueira Beret sometime.
Kitzbuhl: Fame and the Hannenkham, stories of slush and queues have put me off.
St Moritz: Meant to be lovely with good off piste, and the one resort non skiers know, but reputation for being a trifle pricey.
Chamonix: Dead famous off piste have only visited in summer.
Megeve/St Gervais: Great reputation but height has put me off booking in advance a friend went and had to be bussed elsewhere.
Engleberg: Sounds goodespecially the Laub.
Badgastein:Nevre heard anything but praise.
There are loads of others I would like to visit but these are the headliners.

3 Valleys- Would like to see what all the fuss is about, but am too tight to pay 9 euro per pint.
Dolomites - Would love to ski in the scenery, but no flights from here
Zermatt - World Class resort
Saalbach - Just seems to be a really good resort
Heavenly - If I make it across the pond, I'd like to try this place
Glenshee- Would love to ski it in good conditions (Is there such a thing?)
St Anton - Sounds amazing

Wengen - apparently very rustic and beautiful sceneray - so my wife who has been there tells me, and I have to keep up with her???
Madonna di Campiglio - to see if the Brenta Dolomites are as beautiful as the nearby Dolomites
Banff - also sounds stunning
Pyranees - would love to do a tour of some of the smaller resorts (not Andora!) as they sound wonderfully uncommercialised with rugged scenery
... It all seems to come down to scenery for me

T Bar, of your list I've only been to Kitzbuhel. I never been later than March and the snow has always been OK, usually pretty or very good. Last year in mid Feb it was excellent, and it looks to be good right now (I'm off there tomorrow). Since the gondolas were installed on the Hahnenkammbahn, I've never found queues a problem, even at half term.
I too fancy the Dolomites, but I'm also put off by the apparent poor snow record.
I want to visit Whistler, but being limited Easter school hols makes it a bit late. I wonder what it's like at Xmas.
I'd like to vist St Anton again and do it a bit more justice.
Utah is high up my list although the beer and wine problem puts me off a bit.
I'd like to go to Wengen/Murren, but I have this mental image of it as being full of people with leather ski boots and dodgy Norwegian sweaters, and there being loads of T bars, which puts me off (only the T bars do, really). Are there still lots of T bars there?

richmond,
The beer/wine issue in Utah is really not that much of an issue. I would say that if you go to Utah make sure you hit the Cottonwood Canyons resorts (Alta, Snowbird, Solitude). And Snowbasin gets lots of rave reviews though I've not been. The skiing in Park City is nice but the Cottonwood Canyons gets the most snow.
I kind of want to go everywhere but:
The Dolomites sound fantastic but as noted, the snow record is kind of off putting, especially when traveling from the wrong side of the pond.
Zermatt -- All descriptions of the scenery make my mouth water and it's Zermatt.
Wengen -- Somebody's brain washed me but it looks fantastic.
Aspen -- Reputed to offer great and uncrowded skiing for all standards. The village of Aspen is reputed to be really fantastic. It is wicked expensive, however.
Saalbach -- going there in late February and can hardly wait. So many of the Austrian resorts sound like a blast. Our only European experience was Lech, and we loved it.
Banff/Lake Louise -- Many say it's the best scenery in North America.
I'm sure I'd be awe struck by the scenery and skiing, but the large, purpose built resorts don't have much appeal for me.

RISkier, re Utah agreed. I don't quite understand why there's such a weird received perception on Utah licencing laws. Yes, they are a little arcane, but they only really apply to beer. It's limited to 3.7% (not the end of the world if you have anice tasty hoppy beer) but wine and spirits are unaffected.

David Murdoch,
In general, liquour laws across the USA are very strange. I once lived in a "wet" town, though the sale of cold beer wasn't legal. Oh, and the town was in "dry" county. I lived in the county so everytime I took beer out to my house I was violating the law. Haven't really spent any time in Salt Lake City, but Park City has lots of good drinking establishments. And they have these goofy "member only" places, but if you walk in somebody will usuall just sign you in as a guest. It's completely inane, but I wouldn't let the alcohol laws keep you away from Utah. I like Park City, but IMO, it doesn't have the charm of or ambience that I've experienced (very limited) in Austria. And for that matter, I think the village of Stowe, VT is much more interesting than Park City. That said, Utah offers a very nice skiing experienc. Anyplace, including Utah, can have bad snow. But if I were planning a future trip, Utah is as good a bet as anyplace other than glaciers to have good snow. Some of the really high places in Colorado are probably better late season.

RISkier, he he, regarding "your" liquor laws, my brother spent the last five years in a federal penit...no, no, sorry, I mean New Orleans.
The Louisiana attitude to drinking is remarkable. The experience of being offered a "go cup" so you can take your unfinished beer, wine, improbably strong cocktail out on to the street to finish it is truly liberating. Took a while to catch on to what "Jew-wanna-goke-up?" implied.
I like Park City, it's fun. And we're heading to Salt Lake and Park Cities in just two weeks hopefully to catch a little Utah powder (yee haw). I even have my cowboy hat all ready to go. Purchased, I hasten to add, before the release of Brokeback Mountain. [Is it true that that film's working title was "Bareback Mounting"?]
johnboy, I learned to ski in Scotland. I had some amazing days there too. I've also had some ridiculously cold and wet ones too. The second last time I skied Glenshee, my brother and I had to walk onto the chairlift, where they'd thoughtfully shovelled a skis length of snow and walk from the top onto the start of the patch of snow they were optimistically still calling "Tiger". A bedraggled moggie more like.

Going back to the start of the thread...
T Bar, "There are too many resorts for us to ski them all."
D' you reckon? On Arnie Wilson, FT Ski Correspondent,
"In 1994 he skied every day for a year - a feat that took him to 240 resorts in 13 countries around the world, and into the Guinness Book of Records. The story is told in his book Ski The World (1998).
Arnie has now skied in 645 resorts in 25 countries and has no plans to hang up his skis until he has made it 1,000. His next mission is to ski in all 40 of America’s “skiing states” – he has 13 to go." More here
Looks like he's making a pretty good crack at it!!

Where would I like to Visit? - La Grave.
Why? - Off piste heaven (apparently).
Why haven't I visited it yet? - cos I want to visit when the snow is in top condition and when their snow is in top condition ours here in Les Arcs has alway's been too - or the roads have been desperate. - I'll get there eventually - hopefully this year!!! Also, I think I'd prefer to go with a guide or someone who knows it and that's going to take planning (not my best attribute).

Last time in Glenshee - lots of snow and blazing sunshine.
Where to go?
Kitzbuhel - coz you gotta pretend you're Klammer
Dolomites do look pretty and they are on the list however sitting having a picnic halfway down the Vallee Blanche, ringed by mountains, clear blue sky and silence was a humbling experience

Cortina
All those little (less known) villages in the Dolomites - there must be about 100 of them. Echo Magriggs about the snow record, as long as you go in Feb or early March you should be fine. (agavin, Madonna is lovely but not as stunning as Selva area).
St. Moritz
Cervinia - just so I can say I've skied over to Zermatt! (done Zermatt already)
Megeve, went there last twenty years ago when I didn't ski
La Clusaz, supposed to be a nice village
SkiWelt, Tirol, Kitzbuehl - hopefully going in March
Steamboat, Heavenly, Vail (never skied in the US)
