Megeve was very pretty and Zermatt is stunning, they each have their own differing appeal. ZaS I am hoping will be very picturesque too

IncogSkiSno, from what I've read here and elsewhere, I suspect Selva, Jungfrau, Zermatt, none of which I've been to

Seriously,it has to be Zermatt - it has the Matterhorn , the most photogenic mountain in the world (IMHO)

Both the Matterhorn and the Jungfrau have their good points, both are very photogenic, but I think that in terms of beauty, Wengen just has it over Zermatt but its a close thing, however the Matterhorn is a bit more dramatic than the Jungfrau, I'd say go to both and make up your own mind

Alastair Pink, totally agree. Zermatt was absolutely fantastic. I've done Wengen and Chamonix, both fantastic places, but Zermatt gets my vote

Lake Louise or the Sella Ronda in general (the mtns rather than the resorts).

Zermatt has to be it for all round appeal... but Alagne has a very wild and dramatic vibe, not pretty but imposing... and Chamonix in the sun is awesome..again not pretty but it just has 'something' and a lot of it.
I like resorts that gives me that immediate buzz when I arrive..

For me so far i would say Murren.Its one of the resorts left in the Alps that hasn't changed to the dark commercial side and still holds its natural charm.

I can certainly put in a vote for Saas Fee; I've skied to Kitzbuhel but not visited the town.

I'd go for Wengen ahead of Kitz and Saas (of those listed)....and hope to visit Zermatt later on this season....so I'll get back to you then!!

Heavenly is pretty amazing (and has a very apt name) when you can ski along the top ridge looking down at Lake Tahoe on one side and the Nevada desert on the other

Apart from when you can see the Chateau LL!
I would describe Kitzbuhel as pretty rather than beautiful. Zermatt takes a lot of beating for grandeur. Banff gets my vote for the 'most beautifully situated town very close to some decent skiing'.
