Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Myself and
snowbird
are now proud owners of our own skis.
Can anyone point us in the right direction of how to care, feed and look after these animals.
Snowbird
got Salamon Scramblers and I got Fischer RX6.
By the way the conditions are terrible. Below freezing in resort and loads of new snow and sunshine !!!

Ski on them. Get them serviced now and then. Er ................ that's it.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Wouldn't get too precious about them, just take care of the bases and edges.. Someone will annoy you by skiing over them at the lifts anyway...so best get that out of the way pretty quick.
I hate hitting rocks and I use hire skis..!! as they will affect the performance and usefulness of the skis more that the tops....
Regular inspection of the bottoms to see if the base is in good nick and if you are unlucky enough to take out the base near the edge get it filled straight away as the next whack could blow the edge and then thats end of ski 9 times out of 10.

, Get a small sharpening stone, run this down the edges daily to remove any burrs...get them serviced regularly, and that's it !
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Store them over summer with the bindings closed, but NOT with the boots in. Keeps your binding springs "springy"!
