I nearly bought the bright orange one, but Mrs Awd veto’d it. Settled on a 20k grey and black one from Dare2B. I was sooo tempted by the orange Nevica one though. |

For those who use Spikes Spider snowchains, or who are considering them, Amazon have some fairly impressive bargains in certain sizes (e.g. the XXL size reduced from £301.49 to £73.12) here:

Note that these prices are for the chains only and don't include the fixing kit which will cost new users the better part of £100. For those (like myself) going through a significant resizing of their existing chains, this seems to be a good way of picking up lots of spare bits quite cheaply even if the size you want isn't on offer. If you're not sure which bits you need for any size, the Roofbox company has a list of the components for each size.

There were 2 sets of Leki poles in the Rock Bottom outlet in Betws-Y-Coed yesterday that got snapped up in the space of half an hour, I got one of them. If you're passing I suggest it's worth a look for periodic ski gear at silly-low prices (and rock climbing gear all of the time) as they get all the disposals from the Cotswold Outdoor shops whether it's end-of-line, returns or damaged stock.

Snow and Rock have got Falke 2 socks for £13 on their web site. But only in size 5.5 - 7. Too small for me, but might be ok for someone on here.

Nope. I was looking through the Defence Discount Service web site, at all the companies who are part of the scheme and saw Snowsafe listed. I had a quick look at their site and realised it was aimed at off piste skiing. I just thought I’d share it with others. I actually thought of you when posted it.

Good catch, I need a new Helmet, but looking at the Oakley site I prefered a MIPS one (none left in my size) and would have liked the adjustable vents of the MOD5. Quick search later... Ellis Brigham have the MOD5 MIPS in white at 95 quid (half price). They describe it as 'Womens' but Oakley's own site doesn't so I think this is just good old retail sexism. I don't want another black helmet anyhow. The 'Mens version' in black is full price!

Thats a great catch from Cotswold on the Icebreaker.
Although I dont actually need them now, I use Merino all the time for cycling, walking and - of course - skiing, so the two I have in rotation at the moment will fall to bits within a year I reckon.
Just bought two L/S for grand total of £57.80 - for Icebreaker Merino, that is a great deal - thanks !!

Seem to be decent deals on Nordica boots, waxes and ski kits on that privatesportshop site - its been mentioned on snowheads which is how I found it but I have never bought from it and you have to join, like sportspursuit.
