Poster: A snowHead
|
Heading out in a month, we have never been to this resort before. The OH is a timid skier, she has all the skills and is better equipped than she believes, but she wants a couple of mornings of private instruction to bring her on. She is going to email the hotel for advice, but I thought I would ask here too.
TIA.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

My wife who's a nervous skier had a private instructor from the Red Devils school and she thought he was very good. I met him a couple of times and he was certainly a nice guy. His name was Hans and he's a local dairy farmer in the summer so that should be enough to identify him. He's also the spitting image of Benny Hill.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Speaking as a woman, ('cos I am one ) that would definitely put me off him.

Kitz you'll love it.
Red Devils are the original ski school ... I went out in a group with one of their guides, he was briliant and gave us tips. Cant remember his name it was 1982.

Sounds like that might be Hans Haas. I had instruction from him in the early 90s and he was excellent. He also led instructors down the mountain, in V formation, in the opening ceremony for the hahnenkamm downhill that year.
He seems to have written an article about Kitz this season, see link.

@intermediate, Yes I think Haas was his surname, come to think of it. The only instructor I've ever known to turn up to the ski school every day in a tractor.
