Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Elan SL fusion vs SLX

Hi everyone Very Happy

I need a quick advice! So, I am in process of becoming a ski instructor. I am 20 years old and have been skiing for last 14 years. Last few seasons I have been renting skis. So I have decided to buy my first pair of skis.
I have tested Elan SL Fusion skis and I really really liked them. However, I see lot of ski instructors having SLX model.
I think of SLX model to be for only top skiers, and by top I mean those really the best. I would say I ski really good, but I have never competed or something like that. I want to be able to carve because that is the way I ski the whole day, but I have the felling that SLX need too much power and may be too exhausting to ride. However I don't want to lose on aggresivness.
I would be really thankfull if someone could give me any advice. If you have tried any of these please leave your review it will mean a lot to me.
And yeah, I am 184cm tall and have 78kg.

Thanks! Very Happy

Welcome to snowHeads @MrLux14 snowHead

For the first and second levels, it may be wisest to use a slightly less high performance ski. You need to be able to adapt to different conditions and demonstrate techniques at lower speeds. A proper slalom ski will need to be pushed hard before it really starts performing to its best.

Now I am not so tired, while I don't think full bore race skis are nearly as hard work as everyone else seems to think, admin may have a point and it's all about the giggles isn't it? So if you liked the SLs and think they'll work for you, go for them.
