Poster: A snowHead
|
Had a fantastic week in Austria earlier in the season where I was lucky enough to hire brand new skis because of recommendations from here. The sharp edges made a big difference, and think that helped my confidence and because of that my skiing noticeably improved. Especially late in the day and icy patches appear.
Would like to know if anyone has reccos for a good hire shop in Motteret who supply decent, well serviced equipment. Or has anyone has any experience with either of SkiHigher or Slidecandy? Both of which have a delivery service.
Thanks!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Friends of ours used slidecandy for several years in a row. They always said the skis were good quality and the delivery service seemed to cope well with the usual variety of arrival delays and collecting on time.

If you are staying in the Le Hameau / Le Laitelet part of town, we have always found Intersport (Le Creux de l'Ours) good. They seem to have a wide range of kit and are happy to swap or address anything that isn't quite right.
Used the Mottaret Sports shop (half way up Route de Laitelet) once a few years ago - but they set bindings ridiculously tight (for us and for others in the chalet) so never been back.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I can also recommend Intersport. Good service and the skis I hired were lovely and in very good condition.

We are staying at Le Hotel Motteret and looking for a good hire company. And what to look out for as bad equipment.
I’ve only had really good hire equipment once in L2a a few years ago and keen to get that kind of service again, rather than batteries equipment. But not sure how to ensure this

I went with Slidecandy in the end. Really good service. In fact our group had them out a couple of times over the week for various reasons and they were always very happy to help, swapping gear etc.

Has anyone used Motteret Ski Evasion? they are in the hotel we are staying so ultra close. I have spoken to slide candy about their service too, but interested to see if anyone has an opinion on Evasion?
