Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Service Dilemma

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
So i'm off out tomorrow, and since it was very last minute (ish) I didn't get my skis serviced.
Now i've been looking to learn to do them anyway with a course at The Piste Office, but have not got round to it, and I imagine SpyderJon would be to busy at the moment anyway.

So ....

Do I just take them to a store in resort (we'll be driving so could be all over the place), leave them as is, or do I buy a edge tool and stick on some wax tonight?
The skis themselves have had 1 week on them so far, having come from SpyderJon.

I was looking at potentially getting theses, but know if I was to go on the servicing course, be told they are rubbish and to get solidly mounted files etc.

@Dzmarc, skis prepped by spyderjon should last more than a week. I would ski and see how they are and put them in the nearest place overnight if necessary.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

+1
definitely wouldn't put them in for a service after only one week's use

I wouldn't worry about this too much. I'd just get them waxed and sharpened out there if they really need it. Also, edge tools are rubbish. I'd wait and buy decent gear.

If you're going to go on one of spyderjon's courses I'd wait and buy all the tools you need then. He'll be able to explain the merits of different choices and make sure you end up with what you actually need. If you find when skiing next week that you think they need an edge and wax get them done in resort - it won't be expensive and pretty much everywhere will do it for you overnight if it's not a changeover day.

Cheers guys, kind of my thoughts, but wanted to check.
Thanks again.
