Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I know it's not my turn, but I bring instead a different puzzle. I came across this card in Åre the other week, and the next day took some photos from (and I was guessing from memory, I didn't have the card with me) the same spot, to print up and frame side by side with the original by Thomasson. What I want to know is, which picture best matches the original. Grateful for any input. Madeye-Smiley

My pics, please vote A B or C.

There is a small outcrop of rocks on the right in all pics, though in some of mine they are now obscured by trees. The ravine bottom isn't much help because a couple of weeks before my visit, there had been a partial thaw, causing the stream to begin flowing briefly, hence the stream wells in the bottom.

Would be great to know some idea of the year of the original photo. I am guessing pre WW2 from other Thomasson photos and comparing the clothing, but if there is any equipment geeks who could age the skis and poles??? Madeye-Smiley

@thecramps, photo C looks to match best in my view. Really interesting to read the course down the west ravine and to the sluce!

@Themasterpiece, Isn't it. If your are there now and you can get there, one of the stream wells has the remains of a patrol guys skidoo screen in it. He failed to see it in flat light and rolled over while looking to help that woman who screwed her knee skiing into the Ostra ravine two weeks back

So with the start of the season drawing ever closer and excitement about getting back on the white stuff building I thought we could resurrect this thread for the season!

Looks Austrian, the avalanche barriers in the background look like those of the Schattberg in Saalbach - my guess is Fieberbrunn close to the top of Henne?
