Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

La Plagne is big enough in itself to keep anyone amused for 3 days I would have thought; but if you wanted a change of scene you could have a day in Les Arcs which is linked to La Plagne by a major cable car.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

According to reports snow is good above 2200m at La Plagne, and link to Les Arcs open from Saturday.

The 3valleys is next to LaPlagne. A slightly longer version of the Vanoise express that links LP to Les Arcs could link into the 3v , imagine the taxi fare if you missed the last lift!

tangowaggon, it would have to be a bit more than "slightly longer". More like set-up in Whistler, and then some.

There is a story that Champagny had the choice of linking to 3V to La Plagne. Apparently 3V only offered a bus connection but LP offered a lift and so got the vote.
I think there maybe a bus service from Champagny to Bozel so the areas are joined in a manner of speaking.
If you are in La Plagne be sure to find the Borselier Restaurant above Champagny, on a sunny day from their terrace there is a clear view of Courchevel. The black tarmac strip of the Altiport makes a good reference point. http://www.champagny.com/restauration/1/100339-les-borseliers.html

@charlie26, I think it depends on snow conditions in La Plagne/Les Arcs. If snow good, I'd stay in that linked area, which is more than enough for 3 days.
Last December we drove to Tignes from Les Arcs for a couple of days. Snow conditions much better in Tignes/Val D'Isere and we were glad we made the effort. Free parking in Tignes les Brevieres, fuel and lift passes extra!

red 27, i disagree. There is plenty. Easily enough for 3 days.
And the pistes that are open are in excellent condition.
Certainly better than last year.
Coupled with few people about so no queues and pistes empty, we had a super time yesterday.
Should be able to get over to Les Arcs tomorrow - we're quite happy for our week to come.

The lifts up from Les Coches open tomorrow, and you will be able to ski back to the village.

Went up today - quick and easy, but piste narrow and "firm" coming back to Coches.
