When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Afternoon folks,

Right.... i know some of you on here know what you're talking about!!

I need some new skis and the requirements are:

Waist 86mm -> 92mm (ish)
Length 166 upwards
Double tip could be a possibility
Terrain - off piste, a bit of powder, groomed - an all rounder really.

Some that i like the look of:

Line Supernatural 86
Line Honey Badger
Black Crows Captis

@ninja_dave,

1. Recommendations from random internet strangers really don't help.

2. You haven't said anything about yourself, physique, objectives, prefferred colours, etc. (although, given 1. that won't really help either)

3. The only good way to buy skis these days is to try a few pairs and buy the ones that you like best.

Ive just bought the captis but am yet to test them out. Im taking them to the chill factore tomorrow so will report back on them. I expect them to be fairly similar to my last ski which was the black crows ova 9which got stolen in val last year) That was probably the best ski ive ever skied. It was fantastic in any snow at any speed I found. I expect the captis to perform similarly but maybe a tad more playful.
