Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We are basing a lads trip at the Gofree Camping Chalets in Pragelato for a few days and some of the group need ski hire. Does anyone know if there is a shop in the village or do we need to go to Sestriere??

When I was there 5 years ago there was a small ski hire shop beside the
Club Med
hotel, that was before it was bought by
Club Med
though. It was the cheapest hire that I paid for in a long time, less than €50 for skis, boots and helmet. Had paid over €100 a month previously in Isghl. Am sure that someone will have more up to date knowledge.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Was there last year with
club med
but took own gear. There is a small hire place at the golf club which was cosed as the hill wasn't open in pragelato. Only the Cross country course was open. Sestriere would be the place to go, it's about 20 Mins on the bus. 5 Years previous we had our best days skiing in Pragelato, the Cable to sestriere wasn't working and there was a multicar pile up on the way to Pragelato which had the ski bus trapped. and for 25 eu a day ticket we were 3 of just 12 people skiing on 2foot of fresh snow for the whole day, stunning. The only problem was that there was no facilities open as it was midweek, so we skied all day until they closed the lift. I was hoping for the same last year but snow was scarce and the local hill was dry.
Not much in Pragelato though, 2 bars, Both sold snacky type food, a restaurant, and a church. although I must admit I didn't venture out much last year.
