Poster: A snowHead
|
I'm going to Zermatt on December 20th and just wanting to ask advice on transfers. We land in Zurich at 11:40 and have heard that the snow train is the best option and it's in the airport itself. I've struggled to find timetables or how to buy tickets etc. Is it better to do it when you arrive? Can you book first class at the train station? (anniversary trip) does anyone have a link to a timetable? A lot of questions I know sorry.

@mk28, have a look here, www.seat61.com and www.sbb.ch , then select EN for the english version. The train station is within the airport, traveling by train is Switzerland is a joy and dead easy

I did that journey à few years ago and it was pretty straight forward, just one change. Swiss Travel Pass was the cheapest option, it must be purchased in advance.

I've never booked in advance or reserved seats for Swiss trains, and it's never been a problem getting seats. The Swiss transfer ticket it the ideal solution for this, and you are not bound to any particular train, useful if flights are delayed etc
