Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Can't give you a review for that exact combination but have stayed in the self catering part of Les Balcons in Belle Plagne, which looking at the photos on the Crystal site is the same place/building next door.

1. About the nicest-looking of the La Plagne resorts.
2. Les Balcons is decorated from the standard alpine catalogue but everything was generally solid and cats could be swung without too great a risk of injury or death. Very good underfloor heating though.
3. Ski in/ski out, with an easy drop down to the chair in (from memory) Bellecote in the morning.
4. One of the main coach pick-up/drop-off for Belle Plagne is right outside the hotel, so minimal bag-dragging required but very light sleepers might not have the best night's sleep on the last night if on the front of the building.
5. Les Balcons are out on the edge of Belle Plagne, but it's not a big resort and there's a walk-way through the middle. This may have changed but ~6 years ago when we were there the walkway was lethal to anyone not wearing spikes as it was (foot-polished) wood with ice on top!
6. There's a Skiset hire shop built in to the main Les Balcons building making ski hire easy.
7. Not much of an après scene in town, with just one bar that we considered reasonable.

I stayed in an Airtours chalet in the Balcons building back in 2003. Can echo much of what Mjit has said about the architecture/location, though can't comment on the Crystal operation or how the building's interiors have been maintained in the intervening years. Your experience in a catered chalet will also depend much on your individual host(s).

Excellent spot to access the skiing as the Ski Room opens at the back of the building directly out onto the piste that runs down to Bellecote where you can pick up a chair twd Les Coches or the bubble up to the Bellecote glacier.

It's probably one of the best spots to be in La Plagne.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
