@Little Martin, thanks, useful heads up on 3V changes. Hope regrading of Jerusalem piste to a blue works out OK. Could backfire? 3V Escapade route looks a great full day challenge. Full sun, good snow, small lift queues, several choc bars needed? Good for mid March maybe?

Hoping to get back to Courchevel next season. Had 2 fantastic trips last season and loved the run through the forest to La Tania. Changes look good.

Looking forward to trying chasses and croissant. I hope they replace the Col, Glacier and Bouchet in the next few years. They're great runs with old school lifts.

If this is the lower station of Stade, it starts much lower than the map indicates. Does this mean the free draglift is no longer there?
having the single speed lifts at col and glacier is good. It means that you have to be fairly tough and prepared to accept the whack on the back of the legs to go there. The col in bad conditions with snow blown off down to sheet ice must be the most difficult run in VT. Although easier now it's been moved off the glacier.
New selfie points too. A bit weird but might make some great photos
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Cannons are on in courchevel, apparently not a test, they must be confident it's going to be cold enough going forward to build now.
You know it makes sense.

Well if you book them online they come to 279 euros if in a group of 3 or more, 284 for two people, 294 for solo skiers, so 271 is still a saving (though not a huge one).
Its the same price bought in each valley although some companies have special rates so maybe your accomm have a better rate to offer. Generally you can save 10% booking in advance!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks @mad for chelsea and @princeeliot advice appreciated, I had checked the main 3 Valleys sites so knew it was a small saving, just wondered if I was missing any discount sites or other deals which would make more of a saving. I guess with these things you either need a pass or not so there isn't much incentive for the resorts to give out big discounts on weekly passes. Will probably go with the accommodation one as at least then I know where it can get picked up and got a point of contact if there are any issues.
@Timg60, I know there is a really great boot shop in Meribel, called the boot lab. www.thebootlab.co.uk. If you can be bothered book an appointment and ski over. It is run by a couple of english guys who live out there and usually well trained english staff too. Wicked little shop.

All booked up for a week in Val Thorens 18-25 Feb. After a horrible experience for the brother and his better half with airport bus transfers last year (arriving in resort at about 1 am after troubles with delayed flights, traffic and heavy-ish snow), we've decided to use my parents home in Paris for a stop-over, and take the train down, as a result of which I was up at 5am to get the tickets when they went on sale. Result! Three returns Paris-Moutiers for 180 euros total!
Already stupidly excited about the trip, and will be obsessively viewing webcams for the next three-and-a-half months particularly given there's apparently snow on the way...

@Timg60, +1 for the Boot Lab - well recommended from me
@princeeliot, who's offering 10% for advance booking? Is that a tour operator thing? 10% of such a huge value is worth trying to get.

@andybomb1, Ah sorry, when I say 'generally' I actually mean 'sometimes if you book at the right time when there is a special deal for skiing on the correct days'. Which I now realise is pretty unhelpful. apologies.
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

S3V have just announced that the Biollay chairlift is confirmed for Friday's free opening preview day in Courchevel along with Verdons Gondola and hopefully the Saulire Cable Car.
Lifts open 09:30 - 15:00, free parking, free ESF ski tips & free snacks on the piste from 3pm. More snow is expected Wed/Thu so lifts/pistes opening will be subject to final confirmation on the day with safety of course being paramount.

3v's website has a new map produced in conjuction with fat map.
We went up to preview day. The traffic was terrible as a lot of people went up unprepared for the conditions (1 1/2 hours from Le praz to 1850). It was worth though.. two lifts open, verdon and biollay. Quite a few people were doing the off piste between them.
So a bit of snow this weekend, then the ensembles are suggesting a wet period, downside is the freezing level might be a little high, hopefully the temps will drop a bit and the snow level will be lower.
