I apologize in advance for what may be stupid questions.
1. Whilst in resort, if you leave your Skis in for either an "Edge and Wax" or "Full Service", will that change your existing base/side edge angles ie if different to their machine set up?
2. If it does, is there a usual setting - eg. maybe 1:1?
3. If you have a preference, do you need to find a Ski Shop that does in-house servicing....and then how likely are they to accommodate you?
I know that one answer is to learn how to do your own, but failing that, I would greatly appreciate any feedback from those who have knowledge in this area.

Pretty thoughtful question actually  You can specify any angle you want (well from my limited experience I've never found a place that doesn't) but if you don't mention it they will usually just go for a standard (1,1 or 1,2 but hopefully they would look up what your ski is set to). Each model of ski has a factory set base and edge angle which you can look up.
If i ever have to use a shop service then as a reminder (as I set all my skis to a 3 degree edge) I just attach a piece of card to the bindings with the angles I want on them. This can save someone just forgetting an instruction and running them through.

Thank you for your reply.
I was aware that different manufacturers went with differing angles....and it was that angle that I was trying to preserve.
I had a concern that where an in-resort shop/shops transported all their skis to a central point for servicing, the likelihood of stopping and resetting the machine for one set of skis, was unlikely (unless the shop had it's own machine, which is becoming increasingly rare).
I live in NI and our best Ski Shop (Mac Ski) had to close, as it couldn't cope with online prices.

@Old Fartbag, Ah, I get ya. Hopefully if you put a big label on each ski no one would be so daft as to run them through on the different angle as the central point would probably employ qualified / experienced staff. maybe worth asking at the time.
Of course, I have found that increasing the edge angles (I've set all mine to 3) has been beneficial in icy conditions and made no noticeable difference to edge sharpness longevity, so if yours were at 1,1 then the only way is up

@Old Fartbag, If you'd prefer to have them done before you leave home you could try these guys. Based in Portadown, but you can drop skis off with Aaron Cadell on the Lisburn Rd. I think they were connected with either MacSki or Climate. (I haven't used them so can't comment on their service).

My Atomics were 1,3, but God knows what they are now.
I recently bought some Scott The Ski (2015)...and there is some confusion (from Scott) as to whether they are 0.5,1 or 1,3. Their website changed, but Scott said there'd been no change. 
I think I read on The Piste Office site, that Scott actually come with 1,1, no matter what they say.

Would that be Aaron Cassells, who was a friend of both John (Mac Ski) and Des (Climate/ex Mac Ski)?....and teaches in Val D'Isere. Great guy/brilliant instructor. Do you know if it's Aaron who does the work, or is it possibly John.

@Old Fartbag, No probs. Aaron is a travel agent, a 'Travel Counselor' to be precise. He used to have an office upstairs in Climate, he's now based further along the road, I think in a gym.

Now you mention it, I do remember someone of that name....maybe even going back to Hobson's day. The same people do seem to get re-cycled!

How old are they, as I do believe that Scott have changed their tuning, as their website used to read: "Factory Finish: SCOTT skis come direct from the factory "ready to ski" with SCOTT factory finish. Every factory finished ski leaves the factory with side edges ground at 89° and base edges ground between 0.5° and 0.8° for exceptional performance."
Then they stated that it was a 1,3 (giving an effective angle of 88 deg)...and they now, as far as I can see, have removed the info altogether.

Yes, it's David. Haven't heard about him since he shut his shop in Portadown, years ago. He used a guy (Paddy, I think) to service the skis, who then went to Climate.....see what I mean about re-cycling.

New in April this year, and Black Majics have only been out for 2 years anyway I think.
The first time they were serviced was when I did @spyderjon's [excellent, highly recommended] DIY ski tuning course. Jon did say there had been some confusion about what Scott were shipping and he checked what mine were to start with.
