Poster: A snowHead

Just had a thoroughly enjoyable first week in ADH.
Snow was Ok on day one then we had 2 days of snow fall allowing good powder skiing and excellent off piste days 2 and 3 and then lovely sunshine and manicured piste skiing for the remainder.
Snow slightly wet in the late afternoons on southern facing slopes due to very powerful sun but cover still very good.
Ski'd down to Vallard, Vajauny, Oz and all runs seem in good nick. There are a few icy pistes/bare patches on the most popular greens down near the resort but these are so few and far between they hardly need a mention.
Favourite runs were La Rousses * L'appete (Red on the way to OZ) and Couloir (Blue from 2700 lift station).
Stayed in Chalet Altiport and was extremely impressed with quality of chalet. Only gripe was the wait for the transfer coach from the gatwick flight. We had to wait 2 hrs to set off whilst bristol and manchester flights arrived at grenoble.
Fantastic trip, good base for next few weeks.

Popped over there last Thursday (19th) - conditions were good though warm. The Sarenne was particularly scratchy though (nearly wrecked a pair of skis)

I never bothered with Sarenne whilst there after hearing similar stories from other chalet guests. Opted for blacks lower in resort. Not too sure of the name but the black that turns right out of the second Marmotte gondola station was really nice and the snow was good as it was less wind blown.
The pistes on Signal de l'homme were in fabulous condition due to the Northish facing slopes. and the reds were some of the best I had ski'd whilst the pisteurs had left the snow fresh and deep.
If there is more snow over the next day or too conditions should be super!
Am extremely jealous

yes - the glacier is definitely worth skiing if the weather's nice, but going all the way down the sarenne isn't always worth it. lovely restaurant at the bottom though!
