Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Serre Che help please

Poster: A snowHead
Hi, I am thinking of booking a school trip at the end of Dec 2017 in the Hotel Olympic in Chantemerle. The TO tell me it is at the base of the Ratier lift (which should make it ski in/out) but I cant find it on Google maps. Could anyone please tell me how far it is and whether it is truly ski in/out or whether there is a bit of a walk?
Thanks in advance

Is it this one? Looks close-ish to the lift, although I don't know about ski in/out

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've stayed close-by. Not true ski-in ski-out...but less than a 5 minute walk

@snowhound, not ski-in ski out, but close to the lifts. Very little true ski-in ski-out accommodation in Serre Chevalier, but there is lots in a very short distance of the lifts. Grand Hotel is probably the closest to the lifts in that village.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

It's a downhill walk to the lifts at the start of the day, and therefore back up at the end. Not too steep, as Toby says, 5 mins or so from the lifts.

Guys-thanks for this...found it now!!
Am now weighing up the Frejus in Serre Che (which is proper ski in/out) v a hotel in Les Menuires...does anyone know how busy does Serre Che get over new Year? I imagine Les Menuires in the 3V will be heaving but might Serre Che be a bit quieter-lots of people say it is a 'French' resort rather than a 'British' one??!!

Thanks again.
