Has anyone used (for children) SMT Ski School in Mayrhofen? Wondering what the quality is like?
Also they advertise a lunch for kids and wondered if it's good quality/week organised?
Any views/info welcome.

Hintertux now all white again. Little dusting of snow at top of 150er. It will melt, but nice to see.

150er is a cable car - er is abbreviation for person . Lift is really called Tux cable car - but everybody calls it 150er as the sign on it says 150er Tux. The 150er is not the name, just informing the capacity.

@mountainaddict, as @beeryletcher, says it's full name is 150er Tux. It's in Mayrhofen. The bottom of it is near the bottom of the Vans Penken Park and it goes to near the top of Wanglspitze.

I am off to MAyrhofen on 27th Decmeber with the wife and 4 kids. not been there before. Staying in Hotel Strass right next to the lift. Any advice greatly appreciated. Ski school for kids and ski hire advice. Alos anybody want to meet up for a ski!

I see - I've been in it! - but thought that (in the context that it was raised) it was a lift up at Hintertux.

I see there is colder weather forecast from Wednesday and possibility of snow. Doesn't look like the cold will last too long though. Although no trusting long range forecasts!

Nice i wonder at what point it becomes the time for the snow cannons. Another 6 weeks until the season starts so I would guess they would wait for a bit yet.

I'm off to Mayrhofen on 24th Jan for 10 days if anyone wants to meet up. Bit of an oldie (5 strong intermediate/advanced. Not averse to a beer or two!

Lovely skiing in Hintertux today. Very grippy and squeaky early on piste after recent snowfall and plenty of soft crud to blast through between the pistes. Still tracks to be had if you are confident enough about where the hazards are. I wasn't! Plenty of ski teams about. No queues to speak. Visibility closed in after lunch along with light snow.

Snow still holding up well. Queues first thing (teams from most ofEuripe seemed to be gathering here, France, Denmark, Ukraine, Netherlands and Germany). But empty pistes once everyone had spread out.

looks a bit whiter now , but 7 deg today  snow forcast for the weekend . so fingers crossed for an early start to the season . hoping to go to mayrhofen pre Christmas if poss .
