Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Gets is a good family friendly resort. People here are very welcoming of English visitors which can't be said for some of the other PDS resorts. It is a bit 'out on it's own' It is possible to ski to Morzine then you have to take a little train across the valley to access Avoriaz and the rest of the PDS. Several British TO's have chalets there and a couple of hotels too.

We were there the last week of January this year. The weather was unusually warm but the snow was good. It was certainly in better condition than the slopes around Morzine. We had a local pass and found there was plenty to ski in a week.

In a word - yes - access to PDS slopes and enough skiing on the Morzine/Les Gets only lift pass for a week anyway. Have been to Morzine several times where I stay with a friend of a friend in cheap budget accommodation (this is generally boy's trips). Have taken the family to Les Gets and stayed in a chalet with Chalets 1066 (http://www.chalets1066.com/chalet-le-raccard.html). The chalet was lovely if a little out of the way but is right on the bus route. At the time we had two year old twins and the dedicated play room was really useful.

Snow's not guaranteed anytime, anywhere but the last week of Jan is a good choice; time for snow to have accumulated but not French holiday time.
