Sterling is a critical point in its History. |
That's an exchange of £1 = 1.12 Euro, or £1 = $1.28.
Sterling has been relatively stable since the 1.5% drop earlier in November.
Based on your original assertion of the 2016 exchange rate, this year's ski holidays will in fact be 8.45% cheaper in real terms.
Once again Mr Cockwomble you laugh out of your front bottom.

@skimastaaah, thus holiday for me has been SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper this year for me. There are some cracking deals out there at the moment especially in Italy. Whilst the exchange rate is down on previous accommodation prices if you hunt have been slashed. I'm rather enjoying the hunt, it's leading me to parts of Italy I hadn't previously thought of.
Last year for a week
Accommodation £470
Car hire £260
Lift pass £same as this year
This year for a week (same area, different village)
Accommodation £225
Car hirec £125
Lift pass same price
This year I have a 1 bed apartment, so need to make breakfast (I only ever have toast and cereal) but get the advantage of cooked in if I want to. Last year a double room with no seating area or kitchen
58% saving. I'll take that.
I have all my hols booked and paid for along with travel money I still have from pre referendum, I'm good to go.

We Off to insbruck the weekend.
Flights £130
Parking at airport £50

Board only hire for her £40
Hotel paid on points £0
Lift pass £140 to £200 depending if we do 2 or 3days.
loaded my revoult card a fews ago at 1.14 which is also to pay for our trip in March

yup, easyjet for you
last few years I have used BA business class one way & economy back, but they closed that loophole where you get the better baggage for both legs.
Flybe in March are charging me £60 to take my own board
My missus is renting one for £50 & £40 for Innsbruck - she has her own boots & helmet (which funnily enough she puts into my snowboard bag allowance!

@stanton, problem with your attempted trolling here is... the SH community is pro EU - allegedly like you (albeit you left so you views have little merit).
If you must troll why not go find an Anti EU site - such as the BBC comments page? Then you'd get some real reaction.

Well my season has certainly got off to being more expensive. I've had a years worth of frozen rats of varying sizes shipped from Germany for my fast growing pet snake, bought new SL skis (well second hand but pretty much unused), bought a new rifle and now I am almost out of bread and milk.
The only factor offsetting these financial outgoings is that the local store has sent out a load of 25% off stickers so I'm about to go and stick them all on bottles of gin. Depending on how many bottles I can get through I may even show a spending decrease over last year

@Layne, I have a 20 month old coastal carpet python, an Aussie species, they are the Labradors of the snake world.
I do a fair bit of shooting across the disciplines, need to check out the closer clay range I just found out about.

Wow, what's that about 2.5/3m? Lovely looking though. Must have a decent size viv?

@Layne, She's 1.25m at the moment, was 35g in weight when we got her at 6 months, after 10 months with us she was 430g. Both of her parents (long line of German captive bred) were 3m. I custom built a 5 foot by 4 foot multi level viv for her plus she spends a lot of time out in the house or the garden during the summer. @holidayloverxx, This is the big one down towards Graz and has a large set up of shotgun, rifle and pistol ranges. A bit of a drive though.
https://www.siegert.at/wp/de-zangtal/
There is an underground hotel rifle range fairly close to Flachau.
https://www.dolomitenhof.at/en/shooting-range/
And another clay range much closer, Weitwörth (Salzburg). Schießstand Salzburger Schützenclub Weitwörth. Most of the info on the net seems to be about pistol shooting but apparently they have a few clay traps set up, I'll be checking it out in the future.
