Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Kirchdorf?

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi,

Has anyone ever been to Kirchdorf? We are three 23 year old beginners and a travel advisor said this resort will be good for us.... specially as it includes all the flight/accomodation/equipment/lift-pass/etc in a £950 pp price from gatwick on 11th feb...

What do you think guys? are we going to find this resort boring after skiing? have you been there recently? hows the snow?

Added: will i be wrong to presume that there isnt much night life to this resort as its pretty small? it seems to be near Kitzbühel, any locals or people who've been here before there ever recommends going to closeby resorts like Kitzbühel for a evening meal or bars/clubs?

Cheers

diaphragm,

Kirchdorf has a very limted ski area itself but serves as a good base for the Steinplatte, Fieberbruan and St Johan areas IIRC correctly. You will need transport for this and Snowcoach used to use this as a base.

Kitz isn't too far by car but you will not be popping down there everyday.... I haven't been there recently but Kirchdorf itself had virtually no nightlife outside of hotels and bars. If you want action consider deals in Mayerhofen and Soll, maybe Saalbach.

And welcome to snowHead

diaphragm, you'd be better off in Kitzbuhel itself or Saalbach. Mayrhofen is great too with good ski schools but make sure you stay near the main Penken lift to avoid having to catch buses. THe nightlife in all 3 is fantastic, with Mayrhofen working out the best value for money place we've visited. Make sure you get a 'learn to ski' pack as this always works out as good value.
