Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Selva Val Gardena--Midweek to Midweek ??

Our first few holidays to Pas de la casa & Sestiere we had no problem booking a Wednesday - Monday or Thurs-Tuesday etc .Then we started going to Austria and found we could only get accommodation Saturday - Saturday and just forfeited 2 days or if we were very very lucky Saturday - Thursday.

Whats the situation in Selva , we would prefer midweek to midweek or say Saturday - Thursday

Most places do want guests to stay Sat to Sat, I always like to tag some days on to my week & usually just book online. Last season I skied the Sella Ronda & booked one extra day in Arabba & one day in Vipiteno. If you have a hire car, it is easy to move around & be flexible. I'm sure you can find these hotels, but maybe not in Selva & definately not months ahead. The hotels will be holding out for guests booking a full Sat to Sat.

We've been DIYing to Selva for years. We often go midweek or for nine days, the flights are cheaper. We fly EJ into INNS, private transfer to resort, use the same hotel and have gained flexibility through loyalty. We do however, avoid peak periods.

Remember Verona for Selva is almost a s good as flying to Innsbruck. Jet2 fly there from Edinburgh and can be cheap outwith school holidays. You could try the Hotel Flora for mid week bookings, we have managed a few with them.

@wasley, Have you tried the accommodation search function on the Val Gardena tourist office website?: http://www.valgardena.it/en/

They seem to offer several part week accommodation options.
