There have been some interviews over the last few weeks that hinted that this was going to happen, the new skis are longer too.
Glad I didn't bother buying 35m GS skis.

No, female WC skis are 5cm shorter still.

@skimottaret, it's min 188/30 for WC (so 183+ for FIS girls with the 5cm tolerance) so technically FIS boys (not WC) could ski the ladies WC version. But the WC men are on 193 minimum.

@moseyp, gotchya thanks ! thats what I was getting at... I used to have some Head Womens WC 25R 183 ( I think) that I really liked but felt a turnier ski would be better so went with Masters Heros. Could be some of the better ET guys may use the current womens skis as they will be available and still made.
But on topic I think it will make watching GS racing on the steep courses better for me, hated the whole course stivot races as per the vid links.. the odd tactical drift is great but not every turn for me makes better viewing...

That is correct, the new male lengths will be 193cm and 198cm 30R.

@rjs, @moseyp, it is the SL underfoot width I'd been thinking of (actually => 63mm) and surprised to see the GS spec'd width underfoot is a max.
