Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hotel for Christmas in Austria?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Looking for a change from our normal location in Niederau. We are a family of 3. Myself and a 7 year old intermediate skier as well as a non-skiing wife.

As a result we look for hotels with pools, as well as ones with rooms with some separation between where Me and Mrs TG sleep and where our daughter will sleep. We will be flying in and out of Munich and therefore anything within easy transfer from there. Any recommendations for hotels welcome, but not looking to spend a fortune. One of the reasons we have been back again and again to Niederau is that we have gotten v good deals.

One other requirement is to be within a village/town so my wife can wander and not feel isolated and stuck in the hotel.

Obviously beneficial if close to ski school meeting place but not essential as daughter is old enough to carry her own skis (at last!) and skis down most things.

Cheers in advance

Try looking for33 or 4 star hotels in ski areas near Salzburg. All the transfers are easy with no twisty mountain roads. It may be heaper to hire a car which will also give you more flexibility to explore your skiing region

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@TallGuyUK, not stayed in a hotel in Flachau, but did see quite a few with pools when we were there a couple of weeks ago. Jnr has just informed me that the Alpenhof had a nice looking indoor/outdoor pool.

As far as transfers go it doesn't get much easier - junction off the motorway straight in to town if you are driving. Return bus transfer for three from Salzburg airport actually costs less than hiring a car.

The town has a bit going on. But there are frequent buses to other nearby towns for a bit of variety and it's easy for walkers to get up the mountain.
