Staying overnight in Dijon at the Holiday Inn Express, not in centre of town, but we can get a tram (15 min walk to tram I think) is it worth doing?

We used to overnight there regularly before we bought our apartment, and always enjoyed it. Plenty of nice places to eat and lots of interesting buildings.

Stayed over at the Hotel des Ducs in the centre. Good choice of restaurants and generally a decent vibe. Also took the opportunity to stop off in Puligny Montrachet & Vosnee Romanee on the way for vino collapso. Highly recommended!

Sounds good, just won't arrive at hotel till around 7.30pm earliest, wasn't taking into account the hour ahead and had judged getting there around 6. Need to see what time we can get tram
Back, got 3 kids in tow. Don't mind being back about midnight, but even managing that might be pushing it.

They have a tank, and loads of restaurants and bars worth visiting. Trams seemed quite efficient when we were there.

This is a bit late, but for future reference, easier to drive in than walk and wait for tram. Don't recall any problems parking.

In the end it was a bit late and reception guys English wasn't great and our French was worse, so there was no mention of tram.
We just had dinner in the Courtepaille and it was very nice.
@pam w, After the long drive the drivers wanted to ditch the cars and have a beer.
We might pop in quickly in morning before heading off. Need to buy some Dijon mustard
