Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mayrhofen March 2016 solo traveller

Just got back from Mayrhofen after a weeks skiing. Travelled alone and had an absolute blast. If you don't fancy the idea of skiing alone then do ski school as you can ski with others and there's always room for improvement. As skiing is such a such a sociable thing you'll meet new people every night so don't be daunted by travelling solo.

To review Mayrhofen itself I'd say it's a good ski resort, not the best. Most runs are quite short. The only black runs I found were the Harakiri which didn't live up to the hype and short runs connecting other coloured runs together. Blue runs are few and far between, so not great for beginners. Boarders will love the snow park. Lots of Israelis and Russians on the slopes too.

I kept my skis at the Crystal Ski Depot next to the Penken gondola but you can also keep your gear in lockers at the bottom or the top of the main gondola.

Apres ski is decent. Plenty of bars to check out. The walk from one end of the high street to the other is quite long (10-15 mins). There's a Spar next to the main Penken gondola to also get various bits at supermarket pices
