Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski carriage question

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi, anyone travel with skis just wrapped in bubblewrap and duct tape? Flying easyJet and don't see anything in the ski carriage rules that says they have to be in a bag (don't have a bag)

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person
On a boys weekend in Baqueira-Beret last March a friend, already an owner of several pairs of ski's squirreled away in his Verbier chalet, liked his rentals so much he made the shop an offer and took them home. We flew Easyjet from Toulouse and there was no problem. The shop crudely wrapped them in various materials and tape. He just had to stump up the price of at-desk-ski-carriage. So I guess if you are happy they are protected in transit and that the baggage tag can be securely attached, then you should be fine. Though I suppose the standard Easyjet rule applies - if in doubt clarify in writing with them beforehand ! Toofy Grin

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Though why don't you want to buy a bag ? (or are you in the same situ., buying in resort on the spur ?)

I would be surprised if it's a problem...though you could check with the airline.

I think fewer people now take their own skis due to penalising carriage rates, servicing costs and fairly cheap hire rates...but I have certainly seen unbagged skis taken (though not necessarily with Easijet).

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
