Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Worked a season there too many years ago and it was mostly done by late March. Locals skied beyond that I think but alot of shops were closing mid week by then. It could be I was there in a bad year but there was no great suprise at things winding up in April. Most of the area is not that high. That said the webcams do seem to be showing good supplies so you might be ok.

Yes. The lifts close around the end of April. The town is between 1650 and 1750 meters. This is April 29th last year skiing down to the Lacs Roberts

@davidof sorry do not have a google account. I have booked the ferry crossing and night in Reims on the way down, arriving in the Alps on the 2nd April. Chamrousse, Le Grand Domaine or Les Sybelles. Just want to ski really? What do you think would be the best option. Been looking now for 2 1/2 months.

all will be fine, les Sybelles is a big area with lots of villages to ski to for lunch so maybe more interesting.

I'm sitting in a patisserie eating cake after my XC ski outing, reading a newspaper. Apparently there was big demo on Sunday against a proposed extension of the ski area into an area much prized by ski tourers. 500 people formed a giant heart at 2448m. The new lifts etc are only at the stage of studies.
