Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Yes they are, and to a large extent all the runs are about the same as well. There's about as much variation of terrain as you'd expect on a glacier really.

Looks cold, but the sunshine makes it appear lot less gloomy. The slope has the consistency in appearance of Tamworth snowdome. Did you have a facemask on...any frostbite?

Facemasks or balaclavas are pretty much universal at the moment. It's the lifties I feel for, it must be horrifically cold. It's supposed to be unspeakably cold this evening, so it's no further than the hotel bar I think Very Happy

snowbunny, below -20'c air temperature I think. Although air temp's were about around that daytime skiing with some wind as well. Easily well below the -37'c with wind chill we got up at Zinal over Xmas.

snowbunny, it's cold Very Happy In fact the pieces of ice floating by in the river outside seem to be getting larger Very Happy

It was interesting skiing to see how effective the cannons are at those temperatures. They'd been running for days and in a couple of places produced a couple of feet of snow which skied really nicely.

Almost certainly, it will be a lot warmer, with much bigger variation on the slopes, and decent mountain restaurants Very Happy
