Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Looking for some advice please as losing the will to live trawling through Internet ether......
Thinking we can squeeze a couple of days skiing in between shifts & other commitments (anyone want a Davis Cup ticket as appear to have 8 spare ones Shocked) & prob fly to either Geneva or Milan Malpensa, Fri early, back late Sun or v early Monday.
Prefer hotel to chalet or apartment as can just do our own thing more.
la Thuile was looking top option as can find decent place near lift to stay & snow conditions look good etc, but not been there, so interested to hear what anyone else thinks?
Also any other good ideas? I've looked at a lot of the obvious places, but finding somewhere to stay is the problem.....some French scabby, dirt looking apartments available but would rather give them a miss! Any assistance gratefully received!!! Very Happy

Just use Skyscanner to select a flight. Put in your preferred UK airport and then use Any France or Any Italy as the destination. You might even be able to use "Alps" - I can't remember.

Then use AirBNB to find a cheap apartment.

Fly to Zurich and bus / train to Laax. Lots of 'new school' hostel and hotel options available. Good terrain for a few days skiing.

@malarkey99, Chamonix could be a good bet. Memory may be failing but try hotel croix blanche (might be way off here) there's also a mercure hotel near the station and of course hotel Gustavus (bad spelling) which is adjoined to the best apres ski bar in the world Toofy Grin
