I've a pair of Superfeet footbeds that have about 175 days skiing in them. (ish)
They're full cork (or Kork) and still seem to work ok.
It's been suggested to me that I might need new ones as the bottom of the footbed is curved, on the underside below the heel, and it should be flat. I'm pretty sure my feet were unweighted when they were moulded, but it's been a while , which I would have thought put a curve there anyway.
Have they died, or am I getting poor information?
Cheers

I`ve got a pair of superfeet footbeds that i use in my trainers that are approximately 10 years old. Don`t use them in my ski boots but they feel fine in my other shoes.

the body changes, we recommend custom made footbeds are changed every 5 years irrespective of use.

@CH2O, that's what I often tell people, it's well know that as you get older your arches collapse.
Season before last I went to a specialist / podiatrist here who is very well known and does a lot of French race team guys etc etc and twas most unexpected in that he assessed me and then kept my boots and my old insoles and then I had to go back a couple of days later. I was expecting a big bill new insoles etc but all he had done was to build up my old beds and was only 25 Euros!!!
Last few days I've demoing a few touring boots and that did make you think how a well molded liner together with footbed is so important, as the boots were so "hard" against my sticky out ankle bones etc that said I was with some guys from Back Country UK and we were trying out the new La Sportiva Spectre 2.0 boot and they were saying that they have to blow the shell out on quite a few of these boots due to being narrow around the ankle, so it's not just about footbeds!

I didn't know that, it looks like they may be over their "sell by" date then.

Mine are the fully moulded rigid ones-done 10 years ago by Armando Podo in Les Menuires. They've been transferred into two subsequent pairs of boots, together with the heel lifts done at the same time. I ski in total comfort, having previously suffered terrible burning under the balls of my feet because of high arches. I'd be loath to change them.

These are the footbeds; you can see the curve beneath the heel from this angle

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

the curvature in the heel is meant to be there in that product, it allows the foot to pronate slightly, without it the kork based product would feel too aggressive for most (not all) people, i will hazard a guess that you were told it must be flat by a shop which sells another brand of footbed only!

I'm still running a pair of those kork footbeds that @CEM fitted me 8 years (~25 weeks or so) ago and still going strong

LOL, looks like a sales ploy to me. My footbeds are about 7 years old now (200+ days) and still feel really good. Actually they feel better now than when they were brand new, they took a good few weeks to fully bed in (or my feet to bed into them!). I would only change them if I had a specific problem with them.
It's a good point about your feet changing over time though. My feet changed a lot from when I was in my 20s to late 30s (basically flattened arches) and it made one pair of boots I had go from being super comfortable to unbearable within a couple of seasons. But my feet seem to have stabilised now and my current boots have been great for the last 5 years or so - makes me reluctant to replace them.

@CH2O, The footbeds that I had made in your shop are now over 8 years old and are still comfortable and supportive. I had the fit checked out by a top boot fitter and he agreed that they still fitted my feet

Still got my original Sidas conformables, the green airtex ones with silver soles that I made over 25 years ago when I was working in Zermatt, the material is such that it won't wear out and amazingly still comfortable!
