Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi

Off to LT on the 28th, and most details are done. Anyone have any info on any of the ski hire shops, or are they all much of a muchness? The main names are there, along with Alpiski, whom I've not come across before. Any local knowledge welcome. Ta.

PS: any problems getting a ski pass on arrival; or online and collect- I assume the price is the same.

@Charliegolf, the LT ticket office is never very busy so you might as well just turn up. It's right next to the gondola so no detours necessary.

Ski Higher usually get recommended because they're run by Brits but personally I like Skiset opposite the tourist office. Michel who owns it selects his skis personally and usually has an interesting selection. They're also much better at servicing because he's got a very rare and absolute cutting edge Wintersteiger machine. Therefore it's likely that his rental skis will be better serviced too.

I've always gone with whoever alpinresorts points us to, mainly because snowheads gets a bonus if you use the right link/code.

I've used Skiset many times and they have always been friendly and helpful. Gear has always been good too
