Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I'm new to snowheads... so be gentle! Smile

I'll be in Les Arcs from 23 to 30 Jan... not long now! Can't wait!

If there's anyone on this forum who'll be out there at the same time and fancies meeting up for a couple of runs that would be great.

I'm an enthusiasic amateur - Intermediate+ I've not skied any blacks - yet! That's gonna change this year!!! - Mostly because I haven't been with anyone else who felt they could handle them, and I didn't want to be the bloke on his own skiing off the edge or sliding down on my backside at the side! Not very daredevil I know but hey I'm alergic to pain and embarrassment! Smile

I'm 36 and only "discovered" skiing about 5 years ago. I've been working on "technique" ever since - i.e. learning not to fall over, or learning to fall over with more gravitas at least!

If you want to meet up, drop me a line. The forecast looks promising for some fresh before the week's out!

Hi Bruce, glad you've joined in with snowHeads. There seems to be a few other snowHeads in Les Arcs that week, so I'm sure we'll meet up with some others. Did you speak to NewGen to find out what courses they're running that week?

I don't want to ski on my own but I don't want to hold you back, so on the days when you're not around I thought I'd see if there was anyone around I could ski with. Do you know anyone that skis at my level that you could introduce me to?

I called NewGen this morning. They're not running the level 5 that week because there's only John and Ruth in resort. They are running a level 5 technical clinic (Mon and Wed, with homework on Tue!). I asked the difference between the 5 and 6 but apart from the obvious ability criteria the difference is an extra hour a day! hmm... What do you think about the clinic?

I mailed Spirit yesterday, but heard nothing back. The other option might be Arc Aventures. Heard anything about them?

Sounds like a good plan. Scarpa is also there that week I believe, and possibly Bernard Condon. Anyone want to suggest a day for a meet at the FS?
