Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

19 Feb for 5 nights. Val d'isere or??

Any input on a probable 5 night break starting this Friday 19th, flying to Geneva, then ski, would be great. Would like to do Val d'isere but know it will be busy. Have been New Year in past, will it be same with French half term ( could cope with that) or worse? Other ideas? Need bus/train transfer..intermediate slopes. Accomodation, don't care. France or Switzerland? Thanks for any ideas. We know Val d'isere well so can cope with busy I guess.....Dates are really fixed so that's the problem.

@sarah jane, you'll struggle to find anything anywhere this coming weekend as it's the end of the exceptionally busy HT week (some will move out on Saturday, others on Sunday). You might want to try Chalets Direct Solutions Room on the off chance, but could also depend on how many of you there are

Yup 5 days from this Friday in Val d'Isere will be a tricky find!!!!! UK and French hols still in full swing!

I can only suggest that based on general numbers you normally get coming up for 'next week' in a normal year pits it slightly busier than New Year but NY this year was quieter than normal due to the poor snow. But not totally dissimilar no in terms of how busy it can get at New Year normally.

Try http://www.chaletchardons.com/ whilst they are over in Tignes [Les Brevierers] same ski resort as VDI they also have chalets in VDI & if you look on the website offer transfers.

Thank you for that idea of Chalet Chardons. Decided to put off trip as it's busy out there but thanks for replies. Trying not to look at snowy pictures of Val.......
