Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Easyjet flights to Geneva - timing your booking is everything!!!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have had Skyscanner monitoring prices for flights form Southend to Geneva leaving today and returning next Saturday e.g. for a half term ski trip. I knew that timing is crucial when booking flights - but didn't realise how much so. Below are the numbers, on 23rd October the return flight (excluding bags and booked seats) was selling for £224, on 8th November the same flights were £470. That a difference of £246, or for a family of 4 (which we are) a whopping £984 saving if you get the timing right!

very interesting data @stodge.
So if I'm reading that correctly, the price went down to £284.00 on the 9th Feb. You'd have to have nerves of steel I suppose to hang out that late for 1/2 term but interesting to see that prices go down as well as up even for peak weeks. I'm pretty sure EJ have somewhere in their smallprint that if the price goes down from the price you paid for a flight, they will refund the difference. If I recall correctly we have claimed in the past and I think you get a voucher to use against any future flights - not exactly a refund but useful none the less as we use EJ fairly frequently.

@under a new name, not sure about cyclicity - as I only started monitoring since October it's hard to tell. I think prices may be influenced by how many bookings they have had. If they haven't had any for a while the price will drop, then a few people book and it immediately shoots up again.

@loatie, yes it was £284 on 9th Feb - but as you say you would need nerves of steel to wait that late, I certainly couldn't do it. But in the past I have booked as soon as flights are released - I don't this it's worth doing that. I will be waiting until October next year.

As for refunds, if you call customer services they will issue a voucher that you can use to book flights. The booking has to be made within 6 months of claiming the voucher, and is against the price you get when phoning customer services, not on-line - which is a bit of a catch. However I recently booked flights online then phoned customer services to redeem a £45 voucher against the cost of hold bags.

No, according to a recent thread the refunds work on on-line prices, even though you have to phone to get them.

Can't be bothed turning it into a graphic but a quick chart shows a straight line decrease from mid November to Mid January (when it snowed) and then it gets interesting again.

Given that we all know here, before the EJ 'alert' tells us, does anyone have an idea when 2016/17 EJ schedule is likely to be released? IIRC it's around mid-March?
