Poster: A snowHead

Hi
I am new to the forum and new to skiing. I am currently looking for a good ski boot fitter, if possible around central Scotland, please. Anyone who has recommendations?
Many thanks

I've been quite happy with the fit I got at Banks of Perth. It's a wee shop so you know you'll get an experienced fitter, not somebody doing a Saturday job. Plenty other threads on this topic and Baxter at Stirling is highly rated, as are various fitters at Blues, Nevisport, Craigdon etc.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Alain Baxter did mine and I would recommend him to anyone, every other place I went into wanted to sell me new liners, make new foot beds etc etc, Alain made a set of boots that were 90% perfect 100% with a couple of subtle tweaks. His set up is incredible.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Alain Baxter in Stirling is great.
Off the top of his head he sugested some boots that were not his normal brand. Fitted almost perfectly but needed a 1mm difference in the insole and a shell tweak. I'm skiing in a boot that is 1 size smaller than the last fitted pair. They are as tight as hell when first on but man o man, they are just perfect once you go skiing.

I took your advice and visited her 3 1/2 years ago and am still very, very happy with my boots 14 trips later

I've a friend asking me for boot fitting recommendations in Scotland, is the list still valid?? I'm sure I heard Alain Baxter wasn't doing boots anymore?

@kitenski, Alan Baxter isn’t doing boot fittings anymore. He packed it in about 2years ago.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@kitenski, Im pretty sure Shona is still in the Sauchihall St Nevisport.
AB has stopped a couple of years ago.
Ellis Brigham in Braehead used to have an excellent bootfitter (Chris with the beard) but not sure if he is there anymore.
