Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cheapish food in Morzine?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Probably been done to death before but in Morzine with my daughter on a cheap b&b break after half term.

This is a second break so needs to be relatively budget conscious. Any recommendations for evening meals that don't break the bank would be gratefully received. We as staying in center of town about 5 minutes from Pleney lifts.

Thanks in advance

Will you have any cooking facilities? It's never very cheap eating out in the evenings, and half term might be over but it's still French school holidays.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

No unfortunately not. We are there for 4 nights and happy to exist on baguettes or take away pizza but perhaps not every night Smile

@Mister T, La Remise is cheap for pizzas and burgers. Mammas is a good takeaway - casual dining - so is the Spice Garden.

I tend to skip lunch and keep skiing. Saves spending silly amounts on average food on the slopes.

A big shout for Bec Jaune http://becjaunebrewery.com. Awesome craft beer brewed on site and very good burgers for about E10. Just about the perfect apres bar if you ask me and not pricey.

Any suggestions for nice mountain lunches in the PDS from any folk? Somewhere where you can have a lunch and a drink for 15 euros or less rather than the standard 20 euros at most French resorts?

@stef88, Try the creperies in Les Lindarets in the Avoriaz sector, they are better value than the higher mountain restaurants. You can get a nice cheese, ham and egg galette for less than 10 euros if my memory serves me correctly.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@stef88, this is a bit tenuous as I can't remember the name but bere with me.

Over in the Swiss Champery sector where the big cable car comes up from that village, there also arrives a chair coming up from the right, halfway up that chair next to their nursery slopes is a restaurant called something like Le Coq I think which was good food and good value.

They also did something like a sweet pizza type pastry cooked as a large disk with apricot halves placed on it and baked in the pizza oven to caramelise the fruit. You could buy it by the segment.

After describing it I feel like setting off now for a piece it was so good.

Mmmmmmmmm.

@stef88, La Paika in the Les Gets sector has always been brilliant for lunch on the slopes when I've been there. Gets busy so you will need to book. One of my absolute favourites.

@stef88, you will certainly get a very nice lunch at La Paika but it won't be 15 euros or less. Having said that there are soups and salads on the menu that ate not top dollar, and the last time I ate there a couple of weeks ago we shared a plate of Proscuitto and Parmesan which was around 12 euros, before our main courses. It was absolutely delicious and I could have just had that all to myself with a glass of red. We like the Creperie by the Atray lift on the Morzine side and that is very reasonable.
