I was woken by the helicopters in the early hours and wondered what was going on. My mate has 3 Chalet Mounier workers below him but doesn't think it's them. Very sad

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Claude B, can't get the video on the linked page to run on my iPad. Is the Diable the black run above the restaurant?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@achilles, its the black that runs under the Diable chair (was the red eggs). Quite a hike to get up there.

According to daphine it was the red which is further round, even longer hike.

Tragic for the restaurant too, where everybody would have been celebrating that achievement.

How awful - we went to the Mounier - lovely property - for a drink when in L2A a couple of weeks ago. Such a tragic waste

@mcspreader, works well as things are. And there's not much need for speculation; the report is very clear.
@Claude B, thanks.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Or a separate one for the meek and easily offended.

A bit Darwin awardsy - young people getting drunk and doing dumb life threatening things is a bit of a universal far from unique to ski resorts. Very sad for those that knew them not really any more relevant to the rest of us than similar demographics dying in other late night misadventures.

You know it makes sense.

Sadly it appears that at least one did live in the same small block as my mate. I met them in a bar last week. He's had quite a lot of problems with them making lots of noise and was admonishing them at 10 last night For anyone who knows its the same block that Charlotte/Easiski lived in until a couple of years ago. Usually a very quiet area.

Someone in Mammoth was awarded a Darwin Prize years ago for taking a cushion off a pylon, using it as a sled and crashing into the same pylon.
