Poster: A snowHead

Anyone had this, i booked through iglu in September to go to Ischgl from southampton, Invoice came with no ski carraige, rang up only to be told there was no availability, we would have to use Inghams courier service costing £200, I waited until the flight details where sent out, contacted Austrian airways and got my skis on the flight no problem, is this a scam by inghams.

Certainly sounds like poor customer service!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I'm not sure if it's a scam. But the last few flights we've had with Inghams (well whichever airline they use) haven't offered ski carriage at all as they were using some tiny Embraer planes.

@colw, cancel it and use someone else. If they can't cater for the most basic of ski holiday requirements I'd have zero trust in any other aspect of the holiday they were involved in organising.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Probably not a scam just basic incompetence/computer says no non-creative thinking.

Could be Iglu and not necessarily Inghams. I know when I was working in chalets (Ski Total, ok not Inghams, but they're sister companies) almost every time we were unaware of dietary requirement, but the guests said they'd notified upon booking, they'd gone thru Iglu...

@Dave of the Marmottes, @Sitter, it's fundamentally not fit for purpose.
Similar to when I did my ACL in Val d'Isere 4 years back. Columbus Insurance claimed they couldn't find a taxi firm in Val d'Isere, telling me I had to source my own taxi to airport and claim it back. I asked how it was possible for a company selling themselves as the ski specialists to not have any contacts in one of the the most popular ski resorts in the world for British, they couldn't answer. Needless to say, I've never used Columbus again. Not fit for purpose.
Nb - The Mark Warner rep on site in the Moris was wonderful, speaking to Columbus, telling them they were complete idiots (lots of taxis, obv) and generally sorting everything out for me.

Just to say, you're best booking direct with the actual TO rather than through some intermediary agent like Iglu...you might even be able to haggle a free ski carriage if you ask nicely...Iglu is handy for finding the deals from lots of TOs though!
