With the Winter Olympics just four weeks away, all eyes are on the Lauberhorn course in Wengen for its testing downhill this weekend - the longest (4.3km) and longest-established on the World Cup circuit.
The weather looks good, and the competition looks hot.
Here's the official website: www.wengen.com/evelhr.html
And a Lauberhorn website in German: http://www.lauberhorn.ch
Results (and results for the training runs) can be monitored on the FIS website:

Bode Miller has whipped up further controversy by not showing for the official bib presentation ceremony. This report from SkiRacing.com. Discussion on that incident on this snowHeads thread
Who do we reckon is going to win it, then?

Elizabeth B, It also seems a bit strange watching on tv, after being there last year.

Bode didn't turn up because he was being interviewed at the time and the interview over ran, seems no one arround here has a watch
Then he turned up late at the start hut but no one Ive spoken to today knows why, could be he was caught short or was stuck in the crowds which were huge

Fantastic result for Finlay, seems he's hitting form just as Chemmy is going off the boil. Don't know if there's a reason behind her loss of form this week, in training, and in the race proper. Doesn't seem to have been a big mistake when you look at her splits, she was no better than 40th all the way down.
Must have been a great feeling for Finlay to be summoned to the podium as part of the top ten, for the first time ever... Good timing too, a real confidence booster just before Turin. You never know.......

Does Eurosport have really rubbish coverage, or is it just that I don't know how to watch it properly? I watched the live race this morning, and have just watched the re-run on Eurosport 2, and on neither occasion did I see the end, including missing Bode Miller's run (I see from DG's link that he was only 100th of a second outside Finlay's time), so was left with Finlay in 10th but with several racers still to ski. Why do they never have a summing up at the end of the race? Am I doing something wrong? Does it all cut to a secret Eurosport 3 that I can't receive?

Don't know what I was doing in that case

You know it makes sense.

They followed most of the run from the 'copter cam, so you couldn't see who it was. They closed in for the Hundschopf and the finish.

Dave Burt, I think Eurosport can be a bit flakey, presumably as they are reliant on whatever local feed for the coverage. They quite often leave the race suddenly at the end, no round up as you say, no final shot of the winner etc. As I mentioned somewhere else, I think Wengen has been one of the best for this with 'background' footage of the start, finish, winning enclosure etc.
Oh and it's not always 100% accurate with the sky listings - I've sky+'d the odd prog I wasn't expecting.
