Poster: A snowHead

After many years skiing in France,(EK 3V LaPl) booked a last minute solo trip to Verbier 30 jan 7 feb. Looked on line for group off piste lessons/guide and only able to find individual lessons. It's a large Inghams chalet 90+ people so in the worst case should find people to ski with Any advise ?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Have you tried all the independent ski schools: New Gen, Adrenaline, Altitude, Powder Extreme etc?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes Adrenaline web site says they run a guiding session Tues & Fri, meet at tourist office at 9, seems a bit ad hoc. Plan to go round the ski schools on arrival, may get a better response in person. Got the impression it depends on demand.
Thanks for quick response.

How 'off-piste' do you mean? For example on the Warren Smith course I went on we went on the main off piste itineraries as well as loads of bits just off the sides. This is on top of general on piste technique work as well of course.
It wasn't any touring, skinning, mountain awareness, etc, skills though if that's what you want.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Try Powder Extreme, they will almost certainly have a 3 day clinic running, if not a 5 day camp.

Me and Ms Seahoob stayed at Inghams Chalet / Hotel in Verbier last year, it is a nice place and was well run, OH decided to book lessons with Warren Smith to get her "off the plateau" so I took the plunge as well. Both of us improved massivley with their tuition, which took place on and off piste, we were both taught the same skills, just the less experienced groups were taught on shallower slopes. Although it was pricy the teaching was skillful and intense, I left feeling I could call myself a proper skiier! (Christ knows what i've been doing for the last 25 years and c.£30,000!)

There's a ski school at La Tzoumaz, up over on the Savoleyres lift out of Verbier. It might be worth contacting them, as they often kick-off from Savoleyres anyway. The heli-ski off-piste takes off at Croix de Coeur, and the La Tzoumaz school can take bookings for that. See http://www.tzoumazbooking.com/

@Mikehboyle
Hi I am in Verbier 5th to 8th Feb. Maybe we can go halves on lesson costs if you're interested?
