Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Solo Effort

Hi there

looks like my ski trip this year will be a solo effort (wife and child don't want to go this year!) I am looking at going midweek from Monday the 29th of Feb, coming back the 4th of March. Just looking at any suggestions please? We have got to Saalbach and Schladming under our own steam the past couple of years. Just havnt traveled on my own before! Thanks again!

I just got back from schladming on Monday. I did Monday to Monday and stated in gasthaus almvater. Lovely place very central to town and train station and €35/night Bnb. The Austrian trains are reliable and cheap. I was only €23 return from Linz to schladming. Salzburg is closer but I had booked for other resort but due to lack of snow there I chose schladming instead.
Because you are going mid week it might be difficult to get a shared transfer.

@madmac1, transfers are going to be expensive solo, unless you use the trains, look at resorts that have a station or nearby. I did a solo trip to Kaprun a few years ago, took the train from Salzburg to Zell am See, then a taxi to Kaprun, only took a couple of hours and very easy. OBB is the Austrian train operator, the site is very easy to use.
