Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Which gloves do French ski shops stock?

I've left it a bit late for getting new gloves here, so am hopefully gonna get some in resort...

....Valloire snowHead

They have Twinner, Intersport, Skimium (from memory), and a few others which I can't remember.

So which are the 'best' ones that might be stocked at a small-ish French ski resort?

(ideally not mitts, & not massive gauntlets, but would like them to be warm!)

Thank you! Very Happy

Shouldn't be too hard to find some Hestras. Love my Hestra ski cross gloves (if you want short close fitting) and Army Patrols (lighter weight and not quite as long as most gauntlets)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Mitts are significantly warmer, if that's important. Really warm gloves can be a bit unwieldy.

Yeah I know mitts are warmer, just personal preference but I really don't like them!

Are Hestra from the U.S.? Maybe I was being a bit presumptuous, but I thought the French shops would have more of the Salomons/Rossignols etc? It is a relatively small resort...

If there is an intersport they will have hestra. Although a bit pricier than others, durability is amazing. I have had 3 seasons with mine and no gaffa tape yet!
Ps as a snowboarder this is rare!!😃

Hestra is a small town in central southern Sweden. It doesn't pay to be anything less than enthusiastic about their gloves here Shocked Toofy Grin

There's a small intersport, which does more on the rental side I think.

I guess I was thinking of a good 'second choice' if there was no Hestra to be found - specifically the Army Patrol

I bought some Reusch gloves whilst in Morzine. That seems to be a common brand in many of the shops I've been in.

There's likely to be a decent selection of all sorts of brands.
