Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Canada season gap year help

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
So I am planning on having a gap year next year before I go to uni and want to do a season in Canada.

There are a few companies I've come across who help with gap year seasonnaires to get jobs, accommodation etc but if anyone knows of any others or have had experience with any I would really appreciate some opinions!

If anyone has any info on best places to go (I was thinking Whistler or Banff) for a young female snowboarder looking for a fun, social season with tones of great boarding?

Any advice on visas would also be fab!

Thanks Very Happy

First of all, are you already a competent skier/boarder? If so DON'T fall for the 12 week courses run by UK TO's that charge you the earth. If you apply for a Canadian "working holiday visa" or a BUNAC visa. Then contact the CSIA and you can do their instructor courses for a few hundred dollars and at 2CND to the Pound, it's very good value now. If you have one of the above visa's you can work for a Canadian company. There are a lot of other ski areas to consider too. The Okanagan has several and Kelowna too. Banff isn't a ski resort, it's a resort town with 1 TINY hill. Then Sunshine Village about 40 minutes away and Lake Louise about an hours drive away. Whistler is the big "draw" for a lot of people but it isn't necessarily the only choice.
Good Luck
