Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Strasbourg - restaurant recommendations?

Any suggestions for a nice lunch stop in Strasbourg city centre? Local, "authentic" food rather than glitz and Michelin stars.
Merci!

By the Pont St Martin there is the L'Ancienne Douane (starve yourself for a day then tuck into their Choucroute Alsacienne!) and in Rue des Juifs in the old town there are some amazing small restaurants and eateries that the locals use. Maison Kammerzell on the corner of Place de la Cathédrale is considered to be one of the best places to eat Alsacienne food as well as Nouvelle-type Cuisine. In La Petite France there are some nice places too, especially near the Ponts Couvert. Around the Uni (Place Sébastien Brant, Place de l'Université) there are some great bars and restaurants where you can get authentic food at good prices. Gurtlerhoft, also on Place de la Cathédrale is good for Tarte Flambé amongst other things. I studied there for 2 years and had a ball but lots of the places I used to eat have gone or moved. Went back a couple of years ago and can't wait to go back again in Spring.
